Homestay Program

In South Winnipeg, there are two prominent Homestay Programs for international students. These programs are often described as a ‘win win’ for both the students and the families who host them as they are great cultural exchanges! University of Manitoba:  The English Language Centre at the University of Manitoba offers a Homestay program for international students. The students live with local families and attend the U of M. Through the program, families receive reimbursement for costs such as food, water, hydro, and family activities.  Complete details can be found on the English Language Centre’s website.

Pembina Trails Schools Division:  The Pembina Trails School Division has approximately 100 international students who live with local families and attend schools in the Division’s area.
