I am very pleased to present my Councillor’s Report to the Community on Illegal Rooming Houses (PDF) .
This report provides a comprehensive overview of the work initiated by the Fort Richmond-University Heights Neighbourhood Association, myself and many others in order to combat the proliferation of illegal rooming houses in the South Winnipeg-St. Norbert ward.
I am thankful that so many individuals and organizations are taking a lead role in working to improve by-law education, enforcement, neighbourhood liveability and safety in communities adjacent to the University of Manitoba. This is a major issue in the South Winnipeg-St. Norbert ward, and I have been working on developing and implementing solutions since I was elected City Councillor in fall, 2014.
The actions highlighted in the report have resulted in significant, positive changes. We’ve accomplished a lot together, and there is more to do!
