The Fort Richmond University Heights Neighbourhood Association in conjunction with South Pointe Residents' Group is hosting a forum to give local residents an opportunity to meet the School Trustee and City Councillor candidates for our areas.

Date: Wednesday, September 26

Time:

• 7:00pm – School Trustee Candidates

• 8:00pm – City Councillor Candidates

Location: Library – Fort Richmond Collegiate, 99 Killarney Ave

Who?

• School Trustee candidates for the Pembina Trails School Division, Ward 3 (7pm)

• City Councillor candidates for St. Norbert - Seine River (8pm).

Thank you so much to those of you who have agreed to join us as a Volunteer Street Captain! We would like to meet in the Richmond Kings Community Centre on this upcoming Saturday, September 15, from 10:30am to 12:00pm to replenish your supply of postcards. If you can come at that time to restock great, but if you can not make it then you can pick up postcards Wednesday September 19th at 7:00 - 9:00 pm at street captain coordinator Gordon Carson residence - contact gordonrcarson@shaw.ca

Seeking Board Volunteers

We still have volunteer positions available. If you would like to volunteer on the board please review the open position below and contact us.

Currently seeking volunteers for:

• Secretary-Treasurer

• Non Board Positions - Sub Committees

For a description of each board position and duties involved please see below:

Secretary / Treasurer

• Manage funds, donations, bank account.

• Maintain minutes of Board meetings.

• Keep Vision Document up to date with latest initiatives and updates.

Non Board Positions - Sub Committees

• Internet Monitoring
Monitor's the internet for rental ads (Kijiji) and reports to Vice-Chair who maintains
the list of assumed rental properties.

• Looks at MLS listings and ComFree listings for listings that are violating single
family dwelling zoning and reports to community relations person for reporting to
real estate board.

• International Internet Monitoring - Monitors international ads (WeChat) & social
media to gather information on illegal rental housing ads. Reports to International
Community Relations.

• Postcard stock – keep locations stocked with postcards
